01 - 8 mini bagels, sliced in half
02 - 6 ounces cream cheese, softened, plain or flavored
→ Vegetables & Decoration
03 - 16 small black olives, sliced
04 - 8 baby carrots, cut into thin strips
05 - 16 thin cucumber rounds
06 - 8 red bell pepper strips
07 - 16 capers or black peppercorns
08 - 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives (optional)
→ Optional Fillings
09 - 8 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
10 - 8 slices turkey, ham, or vegetarian deli slices
11 - Lettuce leaves
# Step-by-Step Guide:
01 - Apply a generous layer of cream cheese onto the bottom half of each mini bagel.
02 - If desired, layer cheese, deli slices, and lettuce over the cream cheese. Close with the top half of the bagel.
03 - Place each assembled sandwich with the cut side facing upward.
04 - Create facial features and scarves on each sandwich using olives for eyes, carrot strips for noses, capers or peppercorns for mouths, cucumber rounds and red pepper strips for scarves, and sprinkle chives for additional decoration if desired.
05 - Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
